Mercedes Benz and CNBC-TV18 felicitate India’s Young Entrepreneurs

CNBC-TV18 and Mercedes Benz are celebrating the success of emerging India’s young and talented entrepreneurs through the premier Edition of the ‘Young Turks Awards’. These awards were established to champion the spirit of entrepreneurship and celebrate the new age heroes who are transforming India and taking India to the World. These young entrepreneurs defied the global meltdown and created billion dollar enterprises through their entrepreneurship skills. These Young Turks were recently felicitated during a grand awards ceremony that was held in New Delhi which was presided by Chandra Sekaran - President & Managing Director, Global Delivery – Cognizant.

As the Indian economy grows, India's youth has taken to the net like never before. With a 100 million internet users, India is on its way to bag a spot as a global internet hub. To capture the opportunity thrown up by the internet economy, Young Turks spent a better part of 2011 showcasing emerging Indian internet cos. Just a handful of our Young Turks brought in funds of over 230 million dollars from Venture Capitals and Private Equities in the year. So 2011 clearly was the year of the internet economy. ‘Young Turks’ salutes these entrepreneurs who dared to follow their dreams by starting from scratch, implementing their ideas into strategic business solutions and established themselves as young business tycoons in their respective fields of work.

The esteemed jury who judged the winning entries is Mr. Hitesh Oberoi, CEO, Infoedge, Mr. Sanjeev Aggrawal, Founder, Helion Ventures, Mr. Hemir Doshi, Partner IDG Ventures and Mr. Raman Roy, Founder, Quattro.
